Dr. Stephanie Hartman

Dr. Hartman has worked with children, adolescents, and families since 2004. She graduated from Stern College at Yeshiva University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and entered graduate school at the Pace University Dyson School of Arts. The next fall, Dr. Hartman began at Glen Rock School District with students in the elementary, middle, and high school and their families. She completed developmental assessments and interviewed parents in an effort to identify families’ needs and to refer them to the proper resources

In 2006 Dr. Hartman joined Montefiore Medical Center - Child Outpatient Psychiatry Department where she provided therapy; including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, play therapy, and group therapy, for children and adolescents aged 7-17. Dr. Hartman was awarded her Masters Degree in School Psychology in 2007 from the Dyson School of Arts at Pace University. Later that year, she began internship at the Child Guidance Center of Southern Connecticut, an outpatient community mental health clinic, providing therapy and guidance to children aged 3-18, and their families. Dr. Hartman was a member of the Mobile Crisis team and worked closely with the Stamford Police department on urgent and emergent psychological issues.

In 2008, she began work as a school psychologist at Yeshivat Noam, a non-public school in Paramus, NJ, where she met with children and families for therapy, supported these families through the academic process, and collaborated with teachers in the classroom and school administration to help kids succeed. The following year, Dr. Hartman joined the staff as a therapist at the Center for Applied Psychology (CAPs) at Bikur Cholim in Rockland County, NY, where she provided community-based therapeutic services to at-risk children and families in their homes and schools.

Dr. Hartman was awarded her Doctorate degree in School and Clinical Psychology in 2011 from Pace University. That year, she was promoted to Coordinator of School Based Services at CAPs, supervising a team of therapists who provide therapy and services in 15 local non-public schools.

Following 10 years of private practice in Riverdale, New York, Dr. Hartman moved her practice to Florham Park New Jersey, serving Essex, Morris, Bergen and Union counties in person, and continued to service her New York clients via Telehealth.

Dr Hartman is currently the Clinical Director of Crisis services and the Recovery Center at Achieve Behavioral Health, a division of Bikur Cholim, as well as a Clinical Supervisor, where she supervises unlicensed clinicians who provide therapeutic services to children, adults, and families. Dr. Hartman is a member of the American Psychological Association.
